Logan turns 1!!!!

It is so hard to believe that our little girl is now 1! This year really has flown by and she has grown up so much. This age is great though and we are enjoying every minute of watching Logan grow and change. For her first birthday, we decided to go back to Arkansas so we could share it with our families. We ended up putting together a jungle themed party, which turned out pretty cute. Brian of course made fun of me for wanting to do a "theme", but that is what guys do I suppose. All and all the party was great and we were so thankful to have the majority of our family and several friends there. Here are several photos from the big event.

Homemade Invitations
The cake, which turned out great! (not homemade)
Table decorations (it's a tree if you can't tell)
Logan just waiting on the party to start.
Eating pizza and showing you that she is now 1.
Stripped down and waiting for her smash cake. (Her mouth is watering)
She isn't exactly sure what is going on here with all the singing.
It didn't take long for her to dig in. She loved the cake and icing!

Hated her birthday hat...which was on for all of 3 seconds.
Of course she had to sit at the "big kid" table for a minute after her cake.
Logan got so many great gifts, we had to purchase a toy box after we got home.
While opening the presents, she was actually more interested in the cards.
Really the party was so much fun and we truly enjoyed spending it with our family and friends. Logan was absolutely spoiled with gifts, we don't know what to get her for Christmas now. She is such a lucky little girl to be loved by so many. Thanks to everyone who help make her first birthday so special!

October fun!

October sure was a ton of fun for us. The weather in Lexington was really pretty nice for the most part, which always makes it nice to get out. Of course Logan continues to grow and do more things as well. She is all over the place crawling now and babbling up a storm. She really has quite the personality, so we have been enjoying her more and more everyday. This year we actually made it out to the pumpkin patch with Logan. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon, so of course everyone else was out there too. I probably took around 100 pictures of which five turned out okay. Oh well...guess it is better than none at all. Here are a few.

I also had to dress Logan appropriately for her day at Mother's Day Out right before Halloween. She looked so cute, I am sure she was the talk of the school!
Last but not least...HALLOWEEN!! This year was so much fun because we actually had a little one to dress up. Logan went dressed as a little duck and her costume was so adorable. When I first got the costume she would scream when I would put it on her. So, I basically made her wear it for a few minutes everyday for a couple weeks before Halloween day. Fortunately, it worked out because she wore the costume without much fuss for a party as well as trick-0r-treating.

Brian and his girls....

Well, more exciting news in the Cross house! Brian is going to be way outnumbered by the girls here pretty soon. Not only are Brian and I expecting a baby in February, but we are expecting another girl. We really are so excited and feel so very blessed.
So, far this pregnancy has been completely different than it was with Logan. The biggest difference for me was the fact that I wasn't sick at all during the first trimester. I was sick for over 8 weeks with Logan, so this time it was much better. I can only imagine how difficult it would have been to feel that yucky while trying to keep up with Logan. Our due date for the newest addition is February 13th, so that will put our little girls right at 15 months apart. Yes, some of you might think we are crazy, but we think the timing is perfect. We have always wanted a big family so this new little girl is such a huge blessing.
Here are a few pictures of Cross baby #2.
Great profile picture!

Not the most lady like picture, but this is the kind of shot that lets you know whether it is a boy or can see the two legs, her rear, and etc.

Oh what a summer...

It truly was a great summer for the Cross clan! We did so many wonderful things and really enjoyed all the exciting new experiences that come with being a parent. No surprise here...Logan is still changing and growing so fast. I can hardly seem to keep up with all the new things she seems to pick up so quickly. Childhood is amazing. Just to mention a few - here are a few things she is up to these days:
  • Standing up in her crib and banging on the side with her pacifier when she wakes up
  • She now has a fake laugh, cry, and cough - they are all pretty cute
  • Five teeth have come through (2 Cross buckers on top & 3 on the bottom)
  • She enjoys playing patty cake
  • Clicks her tongue (usually after I do it first of course)
  • Blinks both eyes - like she is winking (Mimi taught her this one)
  • Waves both hi and bye as well as waves when she wants you to come get her
  • Crawls everywhere and pulls up on everything
  • Can walk her push toys across the room
  • Loves her bath time
  • Flexes her muscles and grunts
  • Loves looking in the mirror and at pictures of herself
  • Has started processing things even more - like she knows shoes go on her feet and bows go in her hair and she will try to put them on
  • Has started going to Mother's Day Out once a week
  • Calls me BaBa (really trying to break this one as I don't think my child should call me by my first name!)

Anyway, I know pictures are better than words - so here are my favorites from the last month.

This is one of the best! I love this face of hers.

More swimming pictures...yes these are in our white trash plastic pool out back. Standing up in her crib...and yes she has the head tilt down for pictures.
My parents came for a visit over labor day weekend. They of course spoiled us by taking us out to eat and buying new things (Logan made out great!). And my dad was sweet enough to help me with a few projects I couldn't get Brian to do.
No, this isn't her Halloween just happens to be her first dress-up outfit compliments of her Mimi. It really is pretty cute, I have to admit!
This is Logan's first day of Mother's Day Out - somehow we survived the time apart.

Still raising the girl right even though we live in KY!Logan and I made a trip back to AR for a visit and I managed to get this cute shot of her and all her Waack cousins.
The real purpose of trip back that way was for me to go and see Courtney, Jon, Jordyn, and Hudson. I promised Courtney that I would come and help take care of her for several days after Hudson's arrival. I was so glad to get to Tulsa to visit her family and really enjoyed my time. Logan stayed with my mom, so it was the first time I had been away from her. Here are a few pics from my stay in Tulsa.

Hudson at bath time.

Me teaching Jordyn how big girls take pictures. ;)

Our Growing Girl

Oh what a crazy month it has been! I know it has been too long since my last post, so I apologize again for the delay. Sometimes it is just hard to get the solid block of time to sit down at the computer. So, since Logan is down for her morning we go. She has grown and changed so much in the last month. We have so much fun with her each and every day. Here are some of the new and exciting things going on with Logan:
  • Now has three teeth (all on the bottom)
  • Says Dada constantly, which Brian eats up of course.
  • Sits in her booster seat to eat her meals
  • Eats just about anything we put in front of her - this includes all the baby food of course (meats, vegetables, fruits, etc.), teething biscuits, pickles, bread, cheetos, popcicles, and her favorite the puffs.
  • Crawls - really just started this week
  • She loves to play peek at mom over the bumper in her crib when I come up to get her. She hears me coming up the stairs and gets excited to see me.
  • Loves to stand up holding onto things.
  • Gives lots of love to her baby dolls.
  • Has hair now that is hard to tame. It has to be slicked down after every sleeping session.
  • Getting better at drinking out of a sippy cup.

So, here are several pictures along with a crawling video.

Check out my big girl teeth!Loving my pickle. My favorite is for daddy to share his icee pops!Just a very happy little girl!
This is how mom usually finds me when she comes to get me up.

This is a great shot of my "bed head". Doesn't bother me much though.Mom was surprised to find me sitting up in the crib yesterday...guess it is time to move the mattress down.
I is too bad everyone can't look this good in a robe!

Still as cute as can be all dressed up.

Last but not least...the crawling video! Keep in mind this is hard to do with a dress on!
