Let it snow!

It is a winter wonderland here in Lexington. Poor Lacy came all this way and we were pretty much stuck in the house for half of her trip. I think we had at least 5 inches of snow and ice here this week, it has been crazy. I don't even know how many 100s of 1000s of people are without power here. Fortunately, our power was only out for around six hours today before it came on. Brian was about to send Logan and I back to AR for a week because they were projecting that it would take that long before it came back on. At least the house has already warmed back up and we can now cook dinner. I love the snow, but love our heat even more.

So, here are a few pictures of Logan's first winter storm.

Also, just want to send a shout out to Courtney today! Happy 29th...enjoy the last year of your twenties while you can. We love you!

THE BIG 30!

It is official...the twenties are over and I am now thirty! It seems old, but fortunately I don't feel old. It really was a nice birthday since one of my best friends Lacy flew in for a week. Having her here (as well as the fact that she already hit 30) made the transition out of my twenties much better. Once again, I am being spoiled by having someone around to hang out with as well as the help! Logan and I have loved having her here and hate to see her leave on Friday. Maybe she will get snowed in...one can hope. ;) Here are a few pictures of us girls before heading out for a nice birthday dinner...

In Mommy's Shoes

I just couldn't resist this. I don't know how she held onto them all these years, but my mom somehow managed to save a pair of my shoes from when I was a baby. She gave them to me before Logan was born (on an adorable wreath she made for us). Logan's feet have been so tiny, they have yet to fit. Finally this week I tried them on her and they fit! So, of course I just had to get a picture of it. Now it is no secret that I am a fan of shoes...so Logan of course has a ton of shoes (pretty much can't wear any of them yet). Logan's Mimi has also been the main contributor to Logan's collection. Anyway, needless to say this will not be the last picture of her shoes.
Just a couple more pictures I wanted to share from this week...it was Logan's first time to wear big girl jeans, so I of course had to get a picture of that. Then, while messing around with the camera I had to get a picture of her and Murphy together. Brian thinks I am a little nuts with my picture taking, but I just can't help it. I can't get enough of my little girl and want to make sure her life is well documented with pictures!!!

**Also, just a side note, Brian hates the headbands but I think they are pretty cute...

Ninth Week

Well, several things have changed during Logan's ninth week...

1) The biggest news of course is the fact that she has started sleeping seven hours straight at night. This has been nice for me of course. I had heard that it would happen just like that and it did. It really is great and I hear from other mothers that she should extend that 7 hour sleep up to nine or ten here eventually.

2) On top of the fact that she is sleeping much longer, she has also spent the last three nights in her own room. I unfortunately cannot take credit for this step. Brian was afraid that I would never kick her out of our room so a few nights ago when he put her to bed, he put her in her own room. She seemed to manage just fine through the night without me.

3) After a few explosive diapers and the fact that the newborn size seemed to be cutting into her little legs - it was obvious that our little newborn needed to move up a size in diapers. So, she is now in a size 1! They look huge on her, but we didn't have much of a choice. Either the ones that are too small, or the ones that the tape overlaps in the middle. It is crazy to think that she will probably grow out of these soon as well.

4) We tried out Logan's baby bjorn carrier and it was a success. Before the weather got bad we put her in it and went on a few walks. Fortunately she loved it. Brian was so excited as this was his most favorite baby gift (thanks Nominee). She has actually fallen asleep in it every time we have used it.

5) Logan is now in her big girl bath tub. She actually enjoys it much more than just being scrubbed down with the wash cloth. I think it is much easier for both of us. It is hard to imagine that it won't be long before she is splashing around with a bunch of toys during bath time.

So, those were the five big events for this week. It is funny how each passing day she seems to change even more. She is now awake much more during the day and is such a happy little baby. She has the greatest smile in the world and every feature of her face goes into it. The eyebrows raise up and she flashes those gums at us with a wide open mouth grin. I love it! We just love Logan to death and wish were closer to so many of our friends and family so they could enjoy her as much as we do. So - the next best thing is to provide you guys with a couple pictures.

Logan's 1st Christmas

Fortunately, we were able to make it back to Arkansas this year for Logan's first Christmas. It was so great to spend the holiday with all our family and friends. Even though Logan slept through the present opening, I know our families were thrilled to have her there. She of course was spoiled rotten, but that was no surprise at all. Here are just a few pictures...
